MY SENSORY SPACE
“I wholeheartedly recommend Ethical Interactions.
Their work sets a new standard for sensory spaces in public buildings, inviting everyone - neurodivergent or not - to experience how beautiful "not normal" spaces can be.”

“Rachel and the team at Ethical Interactions have raised the bar and set a new standard for inclusion at events like these”

We are a proud Neurodivergent-led and operated organisation, and leaders in hosting sensory spaces at conferences and other events. Our sensory spaces - My Sensory Space - are purpose designed, curated and responsive spaces for delegates, speakers and organisers who thrive in a different kind of sensory environment - away from bright lights, echoing voices and hundreds of people.
My Sensory Space is carefully designed to respond to and support folks' seven key sensory systems, including: Sight, Sound, Touch, Taste, Smell, Vestibular, Proprioception.
Each Space is hosted by a team of NeuroAffirming Angels (the Bliss Bomb) that is there to offer responsive and proactive individualised peer support for folks in the Space and the event.
Each Space is curated for the particular community participating in the event and their unique cultures and ways of being and belonging. We've created spaces for a variety of communities including professional conferences, school fetes, Victorian Mental Illness Awareness Council events for consumer leaders, Yellow Ladybugs who lead work in Autism Advocacy as well as for the Victorian Pride Centre. We bring in cultural references, sensory materials and create an aesthetic that is tailored to the specific community.
Our team works uses a model of complimentary and is a collection of NeuroDivergent Artists, Designers and Stylists as well as professionals from Human Services and Strategic and Operational Managers who work together in organic and non-hierarchical ways that allow each person to contribute their expertise and be supported by others' so that we achieve excellent results beyond what any individual is able. In doing so we show the vibrant ecology of human and non-human diversity in action.
We strongly affirm that the NeuroDivergent community as any other has a Right to accessible spaces and that our Team is remunerated well for their work and so they can live with dignity and respect. My Sensory Space operates on a cost neutral basis, and we offer My Sensory Space to community events at no cost. To do this, we work with government and other partners and sponsors to access community grants and we offer other event organisers the Space at cost.
We can curate, create and host a complete Space for you for a fee of around $3500+GST for a local one-day event to up to $12,000 for a large multi-day event that requires us to travel.
